Cashman and West were an American folk rock duo consisting of Terry Cashman and Tommy West. They began performing together in the late 1960s and released several albums throughout the 1970s. Terry Cashman had previously been a successful songwriter, penning hits for artists such as Bobby Darin, Andy Williams, and Elvis Presley. Tommy West, meanwhile, had worked as a producer and songwriter for artists including Jim Croce and Dion. Cashman and West's self-titled debut album was released in 1972 and included the hit single "American City Suite," which reached #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their subsequent albums, including "Lifeline" and "Songman," were less commercially successful but still earned critical acclaim for their well-crafted songwriting and harmonies. After the duo disbanded in the late 1970s, Terry Cashman continued to work as a songwriter and producer, and is perhaps best known for his hit song "Talkin' Baseball," which has become a staple at baseball stadiums across the United States. Tommy West also continued to work in the music industry, producing albums for artists such as Jennifer Warnes and Ben Sidran. In 2019, Tommy West passed away at the age of 78.
