Charlie Daniels / Charlie Daniels Band

The Charlie Daniels Band was an American country and southern rock band that was founded by Charlie Daniels in 1970. The band gained widespread recognition with their hit single "Uneasy Rider" in 1973, and continued to produce a string of popular songs throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Charlie Daniels himself was a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who played guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. He was known for his distinctive, gravelly voice and his ability to blend different musical styles, including country, rock, blues, and bluegrass.

Other members of the Charlie Daniels Band included guitarist Tom Crain, drummer Fred Edwards, bassist Charlie Hayward, and keyboardist Taz DiGregorio, among others. The band's lineup changed over the years, but Charlie Daniels remained the constant force behind the group's success.

Some of the band's most popular songs include "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," "Long Haired Country Boy," "In America," and "The South's Gonna Do It Again." The band also collaborated with other artists, including Hank Williams Jr., Travis Tritt, and the Marshall Tucker Band.

The Charlie Daniels Band was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, and Charlie Daniels himself was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. Sadly, Daniels passed away in July 2020, but his legacy as a pioneer of country and southern rock music lives on.
