Foreigner

Foreigner is a British-American rock band that formed in 1976. The band was originally formed by Mick Jones, a former member of the band Spooky Tooth, and Ian McDonald, a former member of the band King Crimson. The two musicians wanted to create a new sound that blended elements of British progressive rock with American hard rock.

The original lineup of Foreigner consisted of Mick Jones on guitar, Ian McDonald on guitar and keyboards, Lou Gramm on vocals, Al Greenwood on keyboards, Ed Gagliardi on bass, and Dennis Elliott on drums. The band's self-titled debut album was released in 1977 and was a huge success, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard album chart and selling over 5 million copies in the US alone.

Foreigner's music was characterized by its catchy melodies, soaring vocals, and hard rock guitar riffs. Their songs often featured themes of love, heartbreak, and relationships, and they became known for their power ballads, such as "I Want to Know What Love Is," "Waiting for a Girl Like You," and "I Don't Want to Live Without You."

Over the years, the lineup of Foreigner has changed numerous times, but Mick Jones has remained a constant member of the band. The band has sold over 80 million records worldwide and has had numerous hit songs, including "Cold as Ice," "Urgent," "Juke Box Hero," and "Hot Blooded."

Foreigner continues to tour and perform today, with a lineup that includes Mick Jones, Kelly Hansen on vocals, Jeff Pilson on bass, Tom Gimbel on guitar and saxophone, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, and Chris Frazier on drums.
