Jeff Healey / The Jeff Healey Band
The Jeff Healey Band was a Canadian rock and blues band that was formed in the mid-1980s. The band was named after its founder and lead guitarist, Jeff Healey, who was known for his unique style of playing the guitar flat on his lap, rather than in the traditional upright position.
The band released their debut album, "See the Light," in 1988, which became a commercial success and produced the hit singles "Angel Eyes" and "Hideaway." The album earned the band a Juno Award (Canada's equivalent of the Grammy Awards) for Best Album of the Year.
Over the next decade, the Jeff Healey Band continued to release several more albums, including "Hell to Pay" and "Feel This," and toured extensively throughout North America and Europe, building a loyal fanbase.
In addition to his work with the band, Jeff Healey was also a respected musician and producer outside of the group. He worked with many notable musicians over the years, including B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and George Harrison.
Tragically, Jeff Healey passed away in 2008 at the age of 41 due to complications from cancer. Despite his untimely death, his music and legacy continue to live on, and he remains a beloved figure in the blues and rock communities.

Albums:
-
"See
The Light" (1988) - Single: "Angel Eyes" - This
album
has some of the most searing electric blues guitar you'll ever
hear.
Although his later albums tended more towards straight-ahead rock and
roll,
this album shows his blues roots and is my favorite. Incredible
guitar
work...Healey's solo on the cover of ZZ Top's
"Blue Jean Blues" is amazing.

- "It's Tight Like That"
(2006)
- "Mess of Blues"
(2008) - Great final album from a master musician and blues
guitarist. The album features a mix of live and studio tracks
with Jeff's band: Dan Noordermeer
(guitar/vocals), Alec Fraser
(bass/guitar), Dave Murphy
(keyboards/vocals), Holger Peterson
(background vocals), and Al Webster
(drums). Jeff's soloing on "How
Blue Can You Get" and "Sittin'
on Top of the World" must be heard to be believed. This is
another incredible album from a guitar legend...Rest in Peace Jeff.
