Klaatu

Klaatu was a Canadian rock band that was active in the 1970s. The band members were John Woloschuk, Dee Long, and Terry Draper. Klaatu was known for their progressive rock sound and their use of synthesizers and other electronic instruments.

The band's debut album, "3:47 EST," was released in 1976 and received critical acclaim. The album's lead single, "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft," became a hit in Canada and the United States. The song was later covered by The Carpenters, which brought even more attention to the band.

Klaatu was often compared to The Beatles because of their similar sound and the fact that they remained anonymous for the first few years of their career. There was a rumor that Klaatu was actually The Beatles in disguise, which led to a lot of speculation and controversy. However, the band members denied these rumors and stated that they were not The Beatles.

Despite the success of their debut album, Klaatu's subsequent releases did not achieve the same level of commercial success. The band disbanded in 1982, but their music has gained a cult following over the years. Today, Klaatu is considered to be a pioneering band in the progressive rock genre and their music continues to be celebrated by fans around the world.
