The Knickerbockers were an American rock band that formed in Bergenfield, New Jersey in 1962. The band consisted of Buddy Randell (vocals and saxophone), Beau Charles (guitar), John Charles (bass), and Jimmy Walker (drums). The Knickerbockers are best known for their hit song "Lies," which was released in 1965 and reached No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song features a catchy guitar riff and infectious vocal harmonies that helped it become a hit. The band's sound was heavily influenced by the British Invasion bands of the time, particularly The Beatles. In fact, some people mistook "Lies" for a Beatles song when it was first released. The Knickerbockers went on to record several more albums and singles, but none achieved the same level of success as "Lies." Despite their relatively short-lived success, The Knickerbockers are remembered as an important part of the 1960s rock scene. Their music continues to be enjoyed by fans of the era, and their influence can be heard in the music of many modern bands. The Knickerbockers (1962 - ? )
