Mama's Pride was an American rock band that was active in the 1970s and early 1980s. The band was formed in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1972 and released their self-titled debut album in 1975. The album featured a blend of southern rock, blues, and country influences, with tight harmonies and intricate guitar work. The album included the hit single "Blue Mist", which received airplay on regional radio stations. Mama's Pride released their second album, "Uptown and Lowdown", in 1977. The album showcased the band's growth and maturity as musicians, incorporating elements of funk and R&B into their sound. The album included the hit single "She's A Stranger To Me Now". Despite being critically acclaimed, Mama's Pride never achieved significant commercial success, and the band disbanded in 1982. However, their music has continued to gain a cult following over the years, particularly among fans of southern rock and blues. The band's legacy has been credited with influencing other midwestern rock bands such as Cheap Trick and REO Speedwagon. Thanks to Scott at The Classic Rock Homepage -GSH. Mama's Pride I (1973 - ? )
