The Mandrake Memorial was a psychedelic rock band formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the late 1960s. The band consisted of Craig Anderton (guitar, vocals), Michael Kac (guitar, vocals), Randy Monaco (bass, vocals), and John Kevin Lally (drums). The Mandrake Memorial's music was characterized by its intricate and experimental soundscapes, featuring elements of folk, rock, jazz, and avant-garde music. The band was heavily influenced by the psychedelic sounds of the era, particularly those of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and The Doors. The Mandrake Memorial released three albums during their career: "The Mandrake Memorial" (1968), "Medium" (1969), and "Puzzle" (1970). Their debut album received critical acclaim and helped establish the band's reputation as one of the most innovative and creative psychedelic bands of their time. Despite their critical success, The Mandrake Memorial never achieved significant commercial success and disbanded in 1971. However, the band's influence on the psychedelic and progressive rock genres has been enduring, and their music continues to be celebrated by fans and musicians alike.
