Moloch was an American psychedelic rock band from Memphis, Tennessee, that was active during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band's name was inspired by the ancient deity Moloch, who was associated with child sacrifice. Moloch's music was characterized by heavy, distorted guitars, bluesy riffs, and experimental sound effects, all of which were typical of the psychedelic rock genre. The band's lyrics often touched on themes of social and political unrest, as well as drug use and spiritual enlightenment. Moloch released their first album, "Moloch", in 1969 on the Enterprise label, which was a subsidiary of Stax Records. The album featured tracks like "Cocaine Katy", "Goin' Down", and "Same Old Blues", which became popular among fans of the psychedelic rock scene. Despite their promising start, Moloch disbanded shortly after the release of their debut album due to creative differences among the band members. However, their music continued to be appreciated by fans of psychedelic rock, and their songs have been covered by other artists over the years. Today, Moloch is regarded as a cult favorite among collectors of rare and obscure rock music from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Moloch ( ? - ? )
