The New Colony Six was an American rock band that was active from the mid-1960s to the early 1970s. The band was originally formed in Chicago in 1962, and over the course of their career, they released several hit songs and albums. The band's original lineup consisted of Ray Graffia (vocals), Craig Kemp (guitar), Pat McBride (keyboards), Chick James (bass), and Gerry Van Kollenburg (drums). They started out playing cover songs at local events and clubs, but soon began writing and recording their own music. Their first major hit came in 1966 with the song "I Confess", which reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band continued to release successful singles throughout the late 1960s, including "Love You So Much" and "Things I'd Like to Say". Their music was often characterized by catchy melodies, harmonies, and upbeat rhythms. In addition to their music, the New Colony Six were known for their distinctive fashion sense. They often wore matching outfits on stage, and their style was influenced by the mod and psychedelic movements of the time. The band underwent several lineup changes over the years, and by the early 1970s, they had shifted their sound towards a more hard rock and progressive rock style. However, they never achieved the same level of commercial success as they had in their early years, and they eventually disbanded in 1974. New Colony Six I (1964 - ? )
