The Ozark Mountain Daredevils
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils were an American rock band that formed in Missouri in the early 1970s. Their music is a blend of country, rock, and pop, with a distinctive sound that often features harmonies and acoustic instrumentation.
The band's original members included John Dillon, Randle Chowning, Steve Cash, Michael "Supe" Granda, Buddy Brayfield, and Larry Lee. They released their self-titled debut album in 1973, which included the hit single "If You Wanna Get to Heaven." The song reached No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils went on to release several more albums throughout the 1970s, including "It'll Shine When It Shines," "The Car Over the Lake Album," and "Men from Earth." Some of their other well-known songs include "Jackie Blue," "Chicken Train," and "You Know Like I Know."
The band's popularity began to decline in the late 1970s, and they went through several personnel changes over the years. However, they continued to perform and record music, and their music remains popular with fans of classic rock and country rock.
Today, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils are recognized as pioneers of the country rock genre, and their music continues to be celebrated for its blend of acoustic and electric instruments, lush harmonies, and catchy melodies.
