Peter Gabriel is an English musician, singer, and songwriter who was born on February 13, 1950. He first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the progressive rock band Genesis, which he co-founded in 1967. Gabriel left Genesis in 1975 to pursue a solo career, and he has since become one of the most successful and innovative musicians of his generation.
