Quarterflash is an American rock band that was formed in Portland, Oregon in 1980. The band consisted of lead vocalist and saxophonist Rindy Ross, her husband and guitarist Marv Ross, bassist Rick DiGiallonardo, keyboardist Jack Charles, and drummer Brian David Willis. The band gained popularity in the early 1980s with their self-titled debut album "Quarterflash", which was released in 1981. The album featured the hit singles "Harden My Heart" and "Find Another Fool," which both reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Quarterflash's sound was characterized by Rindy Ross's soulful saxophone playing, which added a unique touch to their otherwise straightforward rock sound. The band's music was often compared to other female-fronted rock bands of the era, such as Pat Benatar and Heart. In addition to their debut album, Quarterflash released several other albums throughout the 1980s, including "Take Another Picture" (1983), "Back Into Blue" (1985), and "Girl in the Wind" (1988). However, the band's commercial success began to wane after their initial breakout, and they eventually disbanded in the early 1990s. Despite their relatively short career, Quarterflash remains a beloved and influential band in the history of American rock music. Their hit singles continue to be played on classic rock radio stations and have been featured in numerous movies and TV shows over the years. Named for an Australian colloquial phrase, "a quarter flash and three parts foolish". -GSH Quarterflash I (1980 - 1985)
