Sea Level was an American jazz-rock fusion band that was formed in 1976. The band was formed by several former members of the Allman Brothers Band, including keyboardist Chuck Leavell, bassist Lamar Williams, and drummer Jaimoe. They were joined by guitarist Jimmy Nalls and percussionist Randall Bramblett. Sea Level's music was a fusion of various genres, including jazz, funk, rock, and blues. The band's sound was characterized by Leavell's keyboard work, Williams' bass lines, and Bramblett's saxophone and flute playing. Nalls' guitar playing added a rock edge to the band's sound. The band released their debut album, self-titled "Sea Level", in 1977, which included the hit single "Shake a Leg." They followed it up with several more albums, including "Cats on the Coast" (1977), "On the Edge" (1978), "Long Walk on a Short Pier" (1979), "Ball Room" (1980), "Live in Chicago" (1981), and "Midnight Pass" (1982). Sea Level's music was well-received by critics and fans alike. They were known for their energetic live performances and their ability to blend different genres of music. However, the band never achieved the same level of commercial success as their predecessor, the Allman Brothers Band. Sea Level disbanded in 1981, but their music continues to be appreciated by fans of jazz-rock fusion. Several members of the band went on to have successful careers in music. Chuck Leavell became a renowned session musician and played with The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and many other famous artists. Bramblett also had a successful solo career and continued to collaborate with Leavell on various projects. Jazzy spin-off from The Allman Brothers Band. -GSH Sea Level I (1976 - 1977)
