Stealers Wheel was a British folk rock/rock band formed in 1972. The band's members included Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan, who met as teenagers in Paisley, Scotland. They began playing together in local bands in the 1960s and eventually formed Stealers Wheel with other musicians. The band is best known for their hit single "Stuck in the Middle with You," which was released in 1972 and became a top 10 hit in both the US and UK. The song's catchy melody and playful lyrics made it a favorite of radio stations and listeners, and it has since become a classic rock staple. Despite the success of "Stuck in the Middle with You," Stealers Wheel had a tumultuous history. Rafferty and Egan had creative differences and personal conflicts, and the band broke up in 1975 after releasing three albums. Rafferty went on to have a successful solo career, while Egan continued to write and record music. In recent years, "Stuck in the Middle with You" has been featured in several films and TV shows, including "Reservoir Dogs," "American Hustle," and "The Big Lebowski," among others. The enduring popularity of the song is a testament to Stealers Wheel's lasting influence on rock music. Stealers Wheel I (1972- 1972)
