T. Rex
T. Rex was a British rock band that was active from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s. The band was led by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Marc Bolan, who is considered to be one of the pioneers of the glam rock movement.
T. Rex's early music was heavily influenced by folk rock and psychedelic rock, but they later developed a distinctive sound that blended hard rock, boogie rock, and pop sensibilities. Bolan's charismatic stage presence, flamboyant outfits, and poetic lyrics also contributed to the band's appeal.
T. Rex achieved their greatest commercial success in the early 1970s with hits such as "Ride a White Swan," "Hot Love," "Get It On," and "Children of the Revolution." Bolan's untimely death in a car accident in 1977 marked the end of the band's career, but their influence can still be heard in the music of many artists today.
T. Rex's legacy also extends to their impact on fashion and pop culture. Bolan's signature look of glittery makeup, feather boas, and platform shoes became synonymous with the glam rock movement and inspired many musicians and fashion designers.
