The Tremeloes

The Tremeloes are a British rock and pop band that were formed in Essex, England in 1958. The original members of the band were Brian Poole (vocals), Graham Scott (guitar), Alan Blakely (keyboards), Alan Howard (bass) and Dave Munden (drums).

The band first gained fame in the early 1960s with a string of hits, including "Twist and Shout," "Do You Love Me," and "Someone, Someone." In 1966, Brian Poole left the band to pursue a solo career, and the remaining members of the band continued on as The Tremeloes.

During the late 1960s, The Tremeloes had several more hits, including "Here Comes My Baby" (written by Cat Stevens), "Even the Bad Times Are Good," and "Silence Is Golden," which was their biggest hit, reaching number 1 in the UK and number 11 in the US. The band continued to record and perform throughout the 1970s and 1980s, although with less commercial success than in their early years.

Over the years, The Tremeloes have undergone several lineup changes, but the most notable members have always been Dave Munden (drums) and Rick Westwood (guitar). The band's style evolved over time from early rock and roll to pop, and they have been credited with influencing many other artists in the genre.

In recent years, The Tremeloes have continued to perform and tour, and their music remains popular with fans of 1960s and 1970s pop and rock.
