Wild Turkey was a British progressive rock band formed in 1971. The band was notable for their use of the electric violin, played by their founding member and frontman, Glenn Cornick, who was previously the bassist for the famous rock band Jethro Tull. Wild Turkey's music blended hard rock with elements of folk, jazz, and classical music, and featured intricate arrangements and soaring vocal harmonies. Their debut album, "Battle Hymn," was released in 1971 and received critical acclaim, particularly for Cornick's electrifying violin playing. The band went on to release three more albums: "Turkey," "Don't Dare to Forget," and "Stealer of Years," before disbanding in 1974. While they never achieved the commercial success of some of their contemporaries, Wild Turkey has since gained a cult following among fans of progressive rock and is remembered as one of the more unique and creative bands of the era.
