The Animals

The Animals were an English rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in the early 1960s. The original lineup consisted of Eric Burdon (vocals), Alan Price (keyboards), Hilton Valentine (guitar), Chas Chandler (bass), and John Steel (drums).

The band's early sound was heavily influenced by American R&B and blues music, and they quickly gained popularity with their energetic live performances and hit singles such as "House of the Rising Sun," "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," and "We Gotta Get Out of This Place." Their music was known for its gritty, raw sound and Burdon's powerful vocals.

The Animals were one of the most successful British bands of the 1960s, and they toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States. However, internal conflicts and disagreements over musical direction eventually led to the band's breakup in 1966.

After the breakup, Eric Burdon formed a new version of The Animals with different musicians, but the band never achieved the same level of success as the original lineup. Nevertheless, The Animals' music continues to be celebrated and influence new generations of rock musicians, and their legacy as one of the pioneering bands of the British Invasion era remains secure.
