King Harvest was a 1970s French-American rock band who formed initially in Ithaca, New York, but broke up and reformed in Paris, France. The band was composed of Dave "Doc" Robinson (vocals, guitar), Ed Tuleja (keyboards), Ron Altbach (bass), and Rod Novak (drums). Their most famous song is "Dancing in the Moonlight," which was released in 1972 and became a hit in both the US and the UK. The song has since been covered by numerous artists, including Toploader, who had a hit with their version in 2000. King Harvest released several albums throughout the 1970s, including their self-titled debut in 1972, "Dancing in the Moonlight" in 1973, and "Lost Horizon" in 1974. However, they were never able to replicate the success of their hit single, and the band eventually disbanded in 1978. Despite their relatively short career, King Harvest's music has remained popular over the years, and "Dancing in the Moonlight" in particular has become a beloved classic rock staple. Thanks to Rod Novak for the bio of this band. -GSH King Harvest I (1969 - 1970)
