"Idiot's Vision" (2000) - After all these years, original
Jefferson
Airplane bassist Bob Harvey has combined with Brian Fowler
to produce this new album of mostly original tunes. Insightful lyrics
and laid-back playing throughout...Bob and Brian obviously had a good time
putting this together. While many of the cuts have a folkish feel
to them (check out my favorite track, "One By One", and the moody
"Shadow Leaves"), several different musical styles are represented
on the CD ("Run Through The Tall Grass" is pretty heavy, reminding
me somewhat of Black Sabbath-ish heavy metal)...And you gotta hear "Death
Warmed Over", featuring some smokin' bluesy passages from guest electric
guitarist John Davis! Since Bob's background is bluegrass
music, I'm pretty interested to see what's next in store from he and Brian.
