Spooky Tooth
Spooky Tooth was a British rock band that formed in the late 1960s and was active until the mid-1970s. The band was known for their bluesy, psychedelic sound and their dynamic live performances. They were also notable for their use of two lead vocalists, Mike Harrison and Gary Wright, who shared vocal duties on many of the band's songs.
The original lineup of Spooky Tooth included Harrison on vocals, Luther Grosvenor on guitar, Greg Ridley on bass, Mike Kellie on drums, and Keith Emerson on keyboards. Emerson left the band after their first album, "It's All About," and went on to form Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The band then added Gary Wright on vocals and keyboards, and released their second album, "Spooky Two," which is considered by many to be their best work.
Some of Spooky Tooth's most popular songs include "Evil Woman," "Better by You, Better than Me," "That Was Only Yesterday," and "The Weight," a cover of the classic song by The Band. The band also collaborated with French composer Pierre Henry on the album "Ceremony."
Spooky Tooth went through several lineup changes throughout their career, with Harrison and Wright being the only constant members. The band broke up in 1974, but reformed briefly in the late 1990s for a reunion tour.
