Trapeze
Trapeze was a British rock band formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and bassist Glenn Hughes, guitarist Mel Galley, and drummer Dave Holland.
The band's early music was heavily influenced by blues rock, and they gained a following in the UK with their energetic live performances. Their debut album, "Trapeze" was released in 1970, and they went on to release several more albums throughout the 1970s.
In 1973, Glenn Hughes left the band to join Deep Purple, and he was replaced by bassist/vocalist Pete Wright. The band continued to release music, with their sound evolving towards a more hard rock and funk-influenced style.
Trapeze disbanded in 1982, but their music has continued to influence generations of rock and metal musicians. Glenn Hughes went on to have a successful solo career, and Mel Galley played with Whitesnake and Phenomena before passing away in 2008. Dave Holland played with several other bands before his death in 2018.
Some of Trapeze's most popular songs include "Black Cloud", "Way Back to the Bone", "Coast to Coast", and "You Are the Music... We're Just the Band".
