Hot Tuna
Hot Tuna is an American blues-rock band that formed in 1969. The band consists of founding members Jorma Kaukonen (guitar, vocals) and Jack Casady (bass), who are also known for their work with the influential psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane. Hot Tuna began as a side project for Kaukonen and Casady while they were still members of Jefferson Airplane.
Hot Tuna's music is heavily influenced by blues and folk, with elements of rock and jazz. The band is known for their virtuosic instrumental performances, as well as their tight vocal harmonies. They have released over 20 albums over the course of their career, including both studio and live recordings.
Hot Tuna has undergone several lineup changes over the years, with Kaukonen and Casady being the only constant members. The band has also collaborated with a number of other musicians, including blues legend John Hammond Jr. and Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia.
Hot Tuna's music has been praised for its raw energy and emotional depth, as well as its skilled musicianship.
