Iron Butterfly

Iron Butterfly was an American rock band formed in San Diego, California in 1966. The band's original lineup consisted of Doug Ingle (vocals, organ), Jack Pinney (drums), Greg Willis (bass guitar), and Danny Weis (guitar). The band is best known for their hit song "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," which was released in 1968 and became a classic rock staple.

The band's sound was heavily influenced by psychedelic rock, and they were known for their long, extended jams and improvisations. They released several albums throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, including "Heavy," "Ball," and "Metamorphosis," among others.

The band underwent several lineup changes throughout their career, with Ingle being the only constant member. They continued to tour and record sporadically until the mid-1970s, when they disbanded.
