Yes
Yes is a British progressive rock band that was formed in London in 1968. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Bill Bruford. Over the years, the band has gone through numerous lineup changes, with Anderson and Squire being the only members to appear on every studio album.
Other notable members of the band have included guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, and keyboardist Rick Wakeman.
Yes is known for their intricate compositions, complex arrangements, and virtuosic musicianship. Their music combines elements of rock, jazz, classical, and folk music, and often features long instrumental passages, multi-part vocal harmonies, and unconventional time signatures. Their lyrics often explore philosophical and spiritual themes, and their album artwork frequently features elaborate fantasy and science-fiction imagery.
Some of the band's most famous albums include "Fragile" (1971), "Close to the Edge" (1972), and "90125" (1983), which featured the hit single "Owner of a Lonely Heart."
Some of Yes's most popular songs include "Roundabout," "Owner of a Lonely Heart," "And You and I," and "Close to the Edge." They have released over 20 studio albums and have sold over 13 million records worldwide. Yes has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous other awards and accolades throughout their career.
For Woody Cross and Dave Adler. Thanks to Guillermo F. Vazquez Malagamba, Woody, and Ed for keeping me straight on the lineup from 1993 to the present. -GSH
