Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)
Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) is a British rock band that was formed in Birmingham, England in 1970. The band was founded by Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, and Bev Bevan. The band's sound combines elements of rock and roll, pop, and classical music, incorporating orchestral instruments such as strings, horns, and woodwinds into their arrangements.
ELO gained popularity in the 1970s with hits such as "Can't Get It Out of My Head," "Livin' Thing," "Telephone Line," and "Mr. Blue Sky." The band's albums often featured elaborate concept themes, including science fiction and space travel.
Jeff Lynne became the driving force behind ELO after Wood left the band in 1972. Lynne's songwriting, production, and vocals were central to the band's success. He led ELO to become one of the most successful bands of the 1970s, with over 50 million records sold worldwide.
ELO disbanded in 1986, but Lynne continued to work as a musician and producer. In 2000, Lynne revived the ELO name and released the album "Zoom," which featured contributions from former band members. Lynne has also collaborated with other artists, including Tom Petty, George Harrison, and Roy Orbison, as part of the supergroup the Traveling Wilburys.

Album:
- "Zoom"
(2001) - This is a great album filled with classic Jeff Lynne
compositions. Don't be scared away because of the paucity of
original band members. ELO
was always Jeff's band, and this album is right up there with the best
of them. Original ELO
member Richard Tandy appears
on one track, and George Harrison and Ringo Starr each appear on a
couple of tracks.
