Zephyr
Zephyr was a blues rock band that originated in Boulder, Colorado in the late 1960s. The band was formed in 1969 by guitarist Tommy Bolin, who had previously played with the band Energy.
Zephyr's original lineup consisted of Tommy Bolin on guitar, Candy Givens on vocals, David Givens on bass, John Faris on keyboards, and Robbie Chamberlin on drums. The band quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy live performances and Candy Givens' powerful vocals.
In 1970, Zephyr signed with ABC Records and released their self-titled debut album, which featured the hit single "Going Back to Colorado". The album showcased the band's blues and rock influences and established them as one of the most promising new acts in the genre.
Zephyr went on to release several more albums, including "Sunset Ride" (1972) and "Heartbeat" (1982), before disbanding in 1984. Tommy Bolin went on to play with several other notable acts, including Deep Purple and The James Gang, before his untimely death in 1976.
