Delaney & Bonnie and Friends was an American rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band was led by husband and wife duo Delaney Bramlett and Bonnie Lynn O'Farrell Bramlett, and featured a rotating cast of talented musicians who became known as "friends." Delaney & Bonnie's music was a unique blend of blues, rock, and soul, and they were known for their high-energy live performances. They were also notable for their ability to attract talented musicians to their band, many of whom went on to have successful solo careers in their own right. Some of the notable musicians who played with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends include Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Dave Mason, Leon Russell, and Duane Allman. The band's most successful album was "On Tour with Eric Clapton," which featured Clapton on guitar and reached #29 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1970. Delaney & Bonnie's influence on rock music is often overlooked, but their music has been cited as an inspiration by many artists who followed in their footsteps. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 as part of the "Sidemen" category, which recognizes musicians who have made significant contributions to music as backup players.
