The Hollies

The Hollies are a British rock band that formed in Manchester, England in the early 1960s. The band was initially made up of Allan Clarke (lead vocals), Graham Nash (vocals and guitar), Tony Hicks (lead guitar), Bobby Elliott (drums), and Eric Haydock (bass guitar). The Hollies are known for their catchy pop and rock songs, tight vocal harmonies, and distinctive guitar sound.

The band had their first major hit in 1963 with the song "Stay," which reached number eight on the UK singles chart. They continued to have success throughout the 1960s with hits like "Just One Look," "Bus Stop," "Carrie Anne," and "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." In the early 1970s, Graham Nash left the band to join Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and was replaced by Terry Sylvester.

Despite the lineup changes, The Hollies continued to have success in the 1970s with hits like "The Air That I Breathe" and "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress." The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
